Clipt Privacy Policy
Static Motion, LLC · Denver, Colorado · Effective September 9, 2026
Clipt is made by Static Motion, LLC. This page explains what Clipt keeps about you, what it doesn't, and how to change your mind.
THE SHORT VERSION
- Clipt never follows you or your phone.
- If you say yes, Clipt notes only the city — never a precise spot — where a clip was scanned, once, at the moment it changed hands. That's off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off any time in Settings.
- We don't track you, and we don't sell your personal information. Sponsor messages, if you see any, are never chosen based on who you are, and sponsors never get your information.
- You can delete your account, and what we keep about you, from inside the app.
WHAT CLIPT KEEPS
When you make an account: your email address (or the sign-in you used — Apple or Google), a screen name you choose, and a password we never see in plain text.
When you play: which clips you've held and passed on, the decorations and short messages you put on them, the points and badges you've earned, and the screen name or "Someone" you chose to show on each clip. Your screen name is shown to other players only on clips you've chosen to show it on. You can stay anonymous on any clip.
If you turn on "Show where clips get Clipt": the city and state where a clip was scanned when you accepted or set it up. One city, one time, per clip. Clipt never records where you are after that, never records where you are between clips, and never keeps your exact location. Your phone's operating system (Apple or Google) does the city lookup under its own privacy terms; Clipt only ever receives the city name. Cities are shown to the people a clip has passed through, on that clip's journey.
If you buy something: payments go through Stripe. Stripe sees your card; we don't. We keep a record of what you bought and where to send it.
If you report or block someone: we keep the report so we can act on it, and the block so it stays in place.
If the app crashes: an anonymous crash report goes to Google's servers so we can fix it. It is not tied to your account.
WHAT CLIPT DOESN'T DO
- No selling, renting, or trading your information.
- No profiling you. We look at the game as a whole — what's popular in the store, which cities clips travel through — to understand and improve Clipt. We don't build a picture of you as an individual. We don't track you, and we don't sell your personal information.
- No targeted ads. Clipt may show sponsor messages; sponsors never receive your information, and nothing you see is chosen based on who you are.
- No tracking you across other apps or websites.
- No precise location, and no location at all unless you turned it on.
WHO ELSE SEES ANYTHING
Only the services Clipt is built on, each doing one job: Google's servers (Firebase) store the game's data and run sign-in; Stripe handles payments; Apple and Google provide sign-in if you chose them, and your phone's city lookup. None of them get more than they need for that job.
We'll share information if the law requires it, or to keep a player safe.
KIDS AND PARENTS
Clipt is for players 13 and older. If you're a parent and you'd like to see what Clipt keeps about your teen, or have it deleted, write to support@clipt.games and we'll help. If we learn a player is under 13 we'll remove the account.
YOUR CHOICES
- Show or hide your screen name: on every clip, and as a standing preference in Settings.
- Show or hide the city: in Settings → Account, any time.
- Delete your account: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your account, your points, and the information stored under your account. Clips you've passed on keep traveling; your hops on their journeys show as "Someone" with no city. Use any store credit code before you delete — an unused code is cancelled with your account and can't be recovered. The app reminds you before you confirm.
- Ask us anything: support@clipt.games.
CHANGES
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
